ABSTRACT
Objetivo: Analisar a distribuição dos cirurgiões-dentistas no estado de Mato Grosso. Material e Método: Foi levantado junto ao Conselho Federal de Odontologia e Conselho Regional de Odontologia de Mato Grosso o número de cirurgiões-dentistas inscritos em cada município do estado. Já as informações demográficas dos municípios foram levantadas no site do Ministério da Saúde. Resultados: Enquanto a população mato-grossense cresceu 18,09% no período de 2002 a 2012, o número de cirurgiões-dentistas inscritos no estado cresceu 78,59%. Com isso a proporção de habitantes/profissional caiu de 1.390,67 para 919,54. O número de municípios sem cirurgião-dentista no mesmo período caiu de 32 para 6. Cuiabá, capital do estado, é o município com a menor proporção de habitantes/profissional com 434,61 habitantes por cirurgião-dentista e Santo Antônio do Leverger, com 18.695 habitantes/profissional, é o município mato-grossense com maior proporção. Foram levantados 142 cirurgiões-dentistas com inscrição secundária em Mato Grosso, sendo 49, o maior número, originários de São Paulo. Apurou- -se que 70,67% dos cirurgiões-dentistas estavam concentrados nos dez municípios mais populosos do estado, cuja população representa 49,85%, enquanto os demais 29,33% estavam espalhados nos demais 131 municípios que compreendem 51,15% da população. Conclusão: O número de cirurgiões-dentistas vem aumentando significativamente no estado de Mato Grosso e a distribuição desses profissionais no estado mostra que, apesar de ocorrer uma concentração na capital e municípios em franco desenvolvimento, percebe-se também sua interiorização, refletida pela redução de municípios sem o cirurgião-dentista.
Objective: To analyze the distribution of dentists in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Material and Method: The number of dentists registered in each state's municipality was gathered from the Federal Council of Dentistry and Regional Council of Dentistry of Mato Grosso. The demographic data of the municipalities were raised by the Brazilian Ministry of Health website. Results: While the Mato Grosso population grew 18.09% in the period of 2002 to 2012, the number of dentists registered in the state increased 78.59%. Thus the proportion of residents/ professionals decreased from 1390.67 to 919.54. The number of municipalities with no dentists in the same period decreased from 32 to 6. Cuiabá, the state capital, is the municipality with the lowest proportion of residents/professional with 434.61 inhabitants per dentist and Santo Antônio do Leverger, with 18695 inhabitants/professional is Mato Grosso's municipality with the highest proportion. 142 dentists with secondary enrollment were raised in Mato Grosso, 49, the highest number, from São Paulo. It was found that 70.67% of dentists were concentrated in the ten most populous municipalities of the state, whose population is 49.85% of the total, while the remaining 29.33% were scattered in the remaining 131 municipalities that comprise 51.15% of the state population. Conclusion: The number of dentists has increased significantly in Mato Grosso and the distribution of these professionals in the state shows that, despite a concentration in the capital and rapidly developing municipalities, there is also internalization, reflected in the reduction of municipalities without the dentist.
